A difficult task, these selfless individuals spend many hours trudging through cold, wet, and/or freezing weather and rough terrain to hunt for the victims of crime, or the elements themselves, to help family members know where their loved one is and what happened to them.

Many families owe their peace of mind to the volunteers who take the time to train and search for missing persons.

A lady I know who has done Search and Rescue (SAR), told me there is no list for essential supplies needed when on an SAR mission.

I proudly provide this checklist of the essential equipment for the SAR volunteer, who hopefully will benefit from it. Two SAR volunteers helped compile it, so that no Search And Rescue individual is missing a vital tool they need when out in the wilderness. It could be the difference between life and death.  I kept the price very low, because I feel anyone who is an SAR volunteer is a special person performing a valuable service.

Even if you only want to prepare for a camping or hiking trip, this list can be valuable.
